The Kent RSC Welcomes New Members to Its Team

Richibucto, NB, July 12, 2022 – In order to respond to the growing demands and to meet the requirements of the Local Governance Reform, the Kent Regional Service Commission (KRSC) has hired three new employees in Recreation, Social Inclusion and Community Transportation.

Ms. Claudie Ringuette will hold the position of Recreation Planning Coordinator. Her responsibilities are, among other things, related to updating the recreation master plan, preparing infrastructure cost-sharing agreements and supporting groups and organizations in carrying out recreation projects in the Kent region. Ms. Ringuette holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in individualized studies. Her previous work experience as responsible for socio-cultural activities, scholarships and financial aid with the Université de Moncton, Campus d’Edmundston will certainly help her meet the opportunities and challenges presented by this new role. Ms. Ringuette has taken over this position since the departure of Julie Payer Lafrance, who over the past five years, had done an exemplary job in ensuring the implementation of the KRSC’s recreation masterplan. Board members and KRSC staff would like to thank Ms. Payer Lafrance for her dedication to the region and wish her the best of luck in her new professional adventure.

Ms. Stephanie Caissie will occupy the position of Social Inclusion and Community Development Coordinator. Her responsibilities include the implementation of projects and programs for poverty reduction, affordable housing, wellness and the promotion of diversity as well as any initiative that will contribute to the lives of the citizens of Kent. Ms. Caissie bring to the table her experience in socio-economic development. She will be a major asset in facilitating the transition from services previously offered by the Community Inclusion Networks (CINs) to the KRSC as she has worked at the Northumberland CIN for the past few years.

A Transfer of Responsibilities in Community Transportation Marked by Unforeseen Events

The Kent Community Inclusion Network officially became the responsibility of the KRSC on Monday, July 4, 2022. Included in this transfer of responsibility is the community transportation service, better known as TC Kent CT. Unfortunately, significant water damage to the offices occupied by TC Kent CT resulted in the temporary interruption of services so that staff and equipment could be relocated. This unforeseen situation is now under control and service is returning to normal.

The KRSC takes its commitment very seriously to ensure continuity in the delivery of the existing service. As a result, Lauréanne Stewart will continue to hold the coordination position to ensure stability for both clients and volunteers. The organization also recognizes the importance of community transportation for the development of the region and will work to bring about positive changes in the delivery of the service by extending its reach over a larger territory, increasing the clientele, and meeting different needs.

Board members and KRSC staff would like to congratulate Ms. Ringuette, Ms. Caissie and Ms. Stewart on their appointments and would like to wish them a warm welcome and the best of luck in their new positions with the organization.
